Lexus RX: New Premium ICE Package

A new double-DVD and multimedia system is now available on the UK market Lexus RX 350 and 450h models. The new premium ICE (In Car Entertainment) package comprises two slim tablet units mounted on the back of the front seats. Each features an eight-inch WVGA screen with an integrated side loading DVD player and USB 2.0 and SD Card readers. Moreover, there are two pairs of infrared headphones which are foldable for easy storage. Each tablet has a manual control panel, or a remote control unit can be used.

The premium ICE package, available to order now, is provided as standard on SE-L versions of the UK market RX 350 and RX 400h and as an option on all other grades, priced at £2,200.

Chicago Show: Lexus ES 350 & RX 350 Pebble Beach Editions

Lexus introduced two limited versions of its ES 350 sedan and RX 350 crossover at the Chicago Auto Show. Both Pebble Beach editions of the RX and ES feature signature colors, extra options and unique badging and their production will be limited to 6,000 vehicles each.

Available from mid-February, the RX 350 Pebble Beach Collection will be offered in three colors: Classic Silver Metallic, Obsidian Black and Truffle Mica. The RX features included new 18-inch wheels, chrome grille, color-keyed rear spoiler, special interior trim combination, customized floormats and exterior badging with Pebble Beach Company's signature logo. The base MSRP of the FWD RX 350 is $37,500 and $38,900 for the AWD model. -Continued

The ES 350 Pebble Beach Edition that will be available from mid-March is offered in the exclusive Truffle Mica color, as well as Tungsten Pearl Silver and Obsidian Black. The 7-spoke 17-inch wheels come with an exclusive liquid graphite finish while the interior of the ES features semi-aniline leather and a wood and leather steering wheel. The ES Pebble Beach Edition also features Pebble Beach Edition logoed floormats and special badging on the front fenders. Prices for the ES will be announced at a later date.

SEMA: Lexus RX 400h by 714 Motorsports & MOMO

MOMO USA and 714 Motorsports collaborated to create a customized version of the Lexus RX400h for the 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The hybrid SUV has received a series of cosmetic and chassis enhancements that include a full bodykit, 22-inch MOMO alloy rims in 235/35 R22 Toyo rubber, Eibach lowering kit, chromed detailing, high-end entertainment system and a Brembo brake kit. We don’t want to be rude or anything, but the specific RX400h was one of our less favorite customized vehicles at this year’s SEMA show. -Details and pics after the jump

Lexus LF-Xh: Tokyo Show Concept Foretells 2009 RX

These are the first official images of the Lexus LF-Xh Concept that will make its world premiere at the Tokyo Show on October 24. The hybrid SUV concept will act as a teaser for the next-generation Lexus RX which is expected to be launched sometime in 2009. Though the LF-Xh features a cleaner and crispier exterior design than the current RX model, overall the styling seems somewhat generic. As for the futuristic interior, forget about it; it’s pure concept. There are no apparent surprises in the tech-department, with the LF-Xh featuring Lexus’ all-wheel drive system backed by a V6 gasoline engine and a high-output electric motor hybrid system. -More images after the jump

Wacky Lexus RX400h dressed in wood by Carrozzeria Castagna Milano

Since you seemed to like the elegantly pimped (…), one-off Toyota Prius we posted up a few days ago we thought you’d certainly dig this. Snapped by our Italian friends at Autoblog.it parked somewhere in Milan, this is one special RX400h. See, unlike your usual tuning-locos who'd either go to an aftermarket specialist or Lexus, the owner of this hybrid SUV thought of something a… tad more drastic; he summoned upon Italian design house, Carrozzeria Castagno Milano to pimp his ride! -Continued after the jump

Obviously a sucker for wood, the "rich and tasteless" owner got his RX400h dressed with exterior wood panels on the bumpers and side mouldings. The exterior package also consists of a white mask, brown colour plastic mouldings and a…Kevlar look-alike roof spoiler. Mods inside include hand stitched, light-brown colour leathering and of course, plenty of wood inserts!... What a woody-wood-pecker!
