Fake Cop in Bogus Accord Police Car Pulls Over Real Cop!

So what are the odds of a guy impersonating a police officer pulling over a motorist for speeding and that driver happens to be and off-duty cop? Well, that one-in-a-million scenario actually occurred when 70-year-old (!) Charles Grubbs driving a black and white Honda Accord (!!!!!!) equipped with front and back flashing lights, a radio antenna and air horn, stopped off-duty officer David Bishop for speeding in Gilbert, Arizona. -Continued

According to Gilbert police Sgt. Mark Marino, when Grubbs got out of his car, the real officer knew he wasn’t legitimate. When Bishop identified himself as an officer the report says that Grubbs went, ‘Oops’. If that’s not priceless we don’t know what is!

SEAT Introduces High Tech Electro-Reflective Paint

Forget about Candy White and Matte Black; the color we’re all going to be hearing about over the next few hours is SEAT’s innovative 'electro reflective' exterior panel finish. The unique paint has been developed in-house by an elite team of technicians at the Spanish manufacturer's Martorell HQ, near Barcelona.

Using complex principles similar to those through which electrochromic (auto dimming) rear view mirrors work, the experts have developed the patented electro reflective finish which constantly adapts to mimic the car's surroundings. Even though SEAT has not disclosed any more information, Carscoop’s sources state that the new electro-reflective paint will be available for order in a year’s time, on April 1, 2009.

Kia KEE_wii Concept with... (April) Fool Proof Wireless Driving System

While most of us thought that we had seen the last of the poorly received KEE Concept Coupe that made its debut in Frankfurt last year, Kia announced today the introduction of a unique development of its Peter Schreyer-designed sports coupe concept - the KEE_wii. The latest upgrade to KEE involves the addition of high-tech drive system that removes the need for a steering wheel and pedals

Franz Josef-Hicks, head of the Advanced Propulsion Research Institute and Laboratory at Kia Motors New Zealand, explained; ‘We have taken inspiration from current computer gaming technology to create a completely new steering and pedal system called Dynamic On-Road Kinetics. The traditional driving controls are replaced by a small ‘controller’ which fits comfortably into two hands. Making steering motions with the small controller will turn the car in whichever direction the driver likes whilst accelerator and brakes are button operated. It is a very simple and intuitive system.’ added Mr Josef-Hicks.

According to Carscoop sources, the KEE_wii dynamic control system will be available on new Kia cars on April 1 2009 and will then be optional on forthcoming generations of models as they are updated or replaced.

US Marines Ghostriding an Armed Vehicle in... Iraq!

In case you’re not familiar with the term, ghostriding
is when a driver and passengers exit a vehicle while it’s rolling uncommanded and start dancing beside it or even on it. But while that might sound just plain dumb (yes, dangerous too) if you do it on your home street in Alabama, we can’t find words to describe the actions of “Jabo”, “Gorgeous Glen” and “Twinkie” (or was that Gumbo, Jumbo and Dumbo…) who ghostrided a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected army vehicle in Iraq! Well, at least they had fun without getting hurt but we could have done without the arse show-off in the end.

Chinese Man Cages His Car to Stop Thieves!

Mr Zhang, of Jilin City, has built an iron cage for his VW Jetta in an effort to stop thieves from stealing parts from his car and demanding later on ransom money to give them back. The Chinese man supports that his car's electronic engine management system was stolen twice and each time he found a note clipped under the wiper, with phone and bank-account numbers. In order to get the part back, Mr Zhang had to wire 500 yuan or about $70 to specific bank-account!

LOL! Virtual V8 Engine Sounds From the Car Hi-Fi System!

This has to be one of the funniest car accessories we’ve ever heard about; developed by “In.Pro.”, the Virtual-Motor system imitates the sounds of an exotic engine and transmits it through the car’s radio speakers. According to the company, all you have to do is remove the car radio from the slot, insert the sound module of the Virtual-Motor into the ISO plug and run the supplied cables to the engine compartment to pick up the rpm-signal. Then you all you need to do is set the individual idle speed.

The system offers you the choice of four different engine sounds: an Italian-V8, a 6-cylinder boxer, an engine of a rallye car or a… formula car. Imagine the surprise of your friend or date if you fit this system on a car like the Smart Fortwo or a Ford Focus! –Continued

Honda Civic Monster Truck!

We’re pretty sure that this monsterized Honda Civic hatch was made by those crazy folks from the discontinued “Red & Green” comdey show –who else would use duck tape as a means of body management… Not so sure however that the Civic actually moves, but it definitely made us laugh for about 3.7 seconds! -More pics after the jump

Video: How to Build an All-Wheel-Drive Vehicle Using 2 Cars

We don’t have anything to say about this video as the title says it all (aren’t we in a funny mood today…). We’ll just add that the humorous video clip is from the Red & Green comedy show that aired in aired on CBC Television in Canada and on PBS in the United States from 1991 until the series finale 7 April 2006. -Video after the jump

Family Names Their Kids Audi, Porsche and Lexus...

When one of our readers sent us an e-mail earlier today telling us the story about a family who named their kids after three carmakers we thought it was a joke. That is until we clicked the link to the original story. Craig and Sondra Harrington of Kilgore have named the 6-year-old daughter Lexus and their twin daughter that were born on October 28, Porsche and Audi…"I think it's something cool to go with," Craig Harrington said. "Other people have these names. I don't think it's that unusual." Well, to be totally frank, even if we are crazy car nuts, we do find it kinda weird and unusual to name three of your kids after car marques… -Picture: Carscoop

Aussies Rule: Bridal Car Confiscated For Drag Racing!

What a way to kick off your new life; a newlywed Australian couple was stopped by an unmarked police car a little after they left the reception as their chauffeur was drag racing a P-plate driver at 130km/h (80 mph) in a 60km/h (37 mph) speed zone. John Tauranga, 21, and his bride Laina, 20, were left marooned along NSW's Great Western Highway at about 9pm on Saturday as the police arrested the 42 year-old chauffeur and confiscated his hire car and licence! Of course they also did the same to the 17-year-old Erskine Park teenager who was driving the other car.

The bride’s mother, Bernadine McCull, accidentally saw her daughter and her husband stranded on the highway as she was driving past to go home. "We were on our way home from the reception and I saw a woman in a long bridal gown walking up the road, holding up her dress," Mrs McCully said yesterday. "I said, 'My goodness, there must be a lot of weddings on today' and then I realised, that's our daughter. We thought they had been in an accident," she said. "The police said, 'We've just confiscated your limousine – it was driving dangerously'."

Oh and by the way, December 28 is the Day of the Holly Innocents in Mexico and Spain or in plain English, the Spanish “April Fools Day”…

Retro: Funny Mazda MX-3 V6 commercial

Wondering why Mazda employed these little fellows for the Dutch commercial of the MX-3 Coupe? Well, the top version of the MX-3 Coupe was fitted with a 1.8-liter V6 engine. At the time, this was the smallest production engine with that configuration. The four-seater MX-3 was produced from 1991 to 1998.

Borat Style Street Racing In Romania

Forget about STIs vs EVOs. This street racing video is all about Romanian turbocharged Ladas with more exhaust pipes than three Ferraris put together and supped up Dacias –not the Logan mind you. BTW; are those Romanian babes hot or what… -Video after the jump

Lion On The Loose Chases Cars In Ohio!

Now here’s one pussycat that you wouldn’t like seeing out of your drivers window. It sounds hysterical, but we’re sure that the drivers in Central Ohio that watched a 500-pound lion chase cars on a major highway didn’t find it at all funny. “He just ran after them like a dog chasing cars, he'd run 10 to 15 feet and come back,” a driver said.

The lion’s owner, Terry Brumfield told police officers that his oversized pet named Lambert had broken out of its pen in nearby Piketon, about 90 miles east of Cincinnati. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and sheriff responded but the owner was able to get the animal back into the cage without anyone getting hurt.

Dude Caught Shagging New BMW 328i Sedan In Public...

Sandy Wong was sentenced last Friday (Nov. 23, 2007) to 90 days in jail -which he has already served in pre-trial custody, after being caught… masturbating on the rooftop of a 2007 BMW 328i sedan that was on display at the Home and Garden Show on March 22, 2007 at the Northlands Agricom. Interestingly, the 45-year-old Canadian was seen checking out three BMW vehicles on display before he chose the "one" or rather the "3er". -Continued after the jump

According to psychiatrist Dr. Curtis Woods, Wong says he is “sexually attracted” to the BMW’s roof top because “it’s curved like a woman’s body, the sex appeal, it felt good.” As you might have guessed, this is not the first time that Wong has showed his weird tastes. In May 24, he was arrested May 24 for humping a 2005 MINI Cooper while he also admitted climbing onto the roof of a 1991 Buick Century parked at the rear of a south-side home, taking off his clothes and masturbating on June 12. Video: Pedal Powered ’86 Buick Regal

A Canadian friend of ours, Sophie, sent us this video link featuring a… pedal-powered 1986 Buick Regal. Sounds like a colleague prank but in fact, the “Flinstonian” vehicle is the work of Canadian artist, Michel de Broin. The Buick, which the artist calls “Share Propulsion Car” was stripped of any unnecessary parts including the engine, suspension, transmission and electrical system , in order to reduce the weight of the vehicle whilst preserving its appearance. -Continued after the jump

The Canadian artist then outfitted the ‘86 Regal with 4 independent pedal and gear mechanisms that make it possible for passengers to form the self-propulsion group. If you live near Toronto, Canada, the “Share Propulsion Car” will be exhibited at the at Mercer Union gallery until December 8, 2007.

Thanks for the tip Sophie!
