Loder1899 Ford Mondeo 2.5 Turbo At Essen Motor Show

Alongside the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante (see here), Loder1899 also presented a supped up version of the new Ford Mondeo at this year’s Essen Motor Show. The frost white Mondeo was fitted with a front lip, rear skirt and roof spoiler made out of real carbon fiber, while the bonnet was finished in a special edition Stainless steel look. The wheel/tire combination for the Mondeo is the 9x20 inch alloy wheel Sins in a shiny, black finish. Alternatively, Loder1899 offers the 9x20 inch design wheel W1 in a special edition Polish glam also in a black, glossy finish with polished spokes. -Continued

The standard 220 hp Ford Mondeo 2.5 Turbo (same engine as the Focus ST) gains an extra 50 hp, thanks to the motor management and the sport exhaust system. Loder1899 also offers a 4-way adjustable sport suspension system. This enables the driver to adjust vehicle height, gradient, pressure level and strut compression to personal taste and requirements.

Loder1899 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante

For this year’s Essen Motor Show (Dec. 1 to 9), Loder1899 presented the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante. The Bavarian tuner’s bodykit consists of carbon fibre accessories (front-lip, rear diffuser and engine cover) combined with the newly created 20-inch alloy wheel Vertigo Viginti. To finish off the look, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante is also equipped with Loder1899´s 35mm lowering kit. -Continued after the jump

In terms of mechanical changes, there’s a sport exhaust system that includes a stainless steel sport catalytic converter. At 4000 rpm the flap control opens, which allows the engine to breathe out more effectively. Thanks to this optimized exhaust system power has increased from 385 hp to 425 hp.

DUNE Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 499HP Premieres In Essen

The maroon matt-finished Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 by “Delta4x4” that made its global debut at the Essen Motor Show features a series of mechanical and cosmetic upgrades. The standard 425 HP 6.1-litre V8 HEMI engine has been enhanced to 499 HP thanks to the new engine control unit, the sport exhaust system with performance manifold and the modified air-feed. Delta says that the 499 HP DUNE project accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mpg) in less than 5 seconds. -Continued

Delta4x4 has also fiddled around with the suspension (+100 mm ground clearance) and the tires as the DUNE sits on new custom light wheel elements IV with 11x23in mounted Continental Cross Contact tires in 305/40 R23. Finally, integrated into the new front spoiler is a Warn winch while the stainless steel roof-rack system and the fender extension contain filigree PIAA main-beam headlights that promise to turn night into day.

VW Golf Variant RaVe 2.0T 270 HP Concept Unveiled In Essen

Who’d ever think that the all-new Golf Variant could actually, look quite good. But before you get your hopes up, the Golf Variant RaVe 270 is just a concept study, or at least for the time being. Presented at the Essen Motor Show which opened up its portals today (Nov. 30, 2007), the RaVe 270 gets a sporty outfit along with a powerful 1,400 Watt high-end sound system and supped up version of the Golf GTI’s 2.0 Turbo engine enhanced to 270 Hp. -Continued after the jump

Developed and built by Volkswagen Individual GmbH, the Golf Variant RaVe 270 combines the Golf GTI engine and the 4Motion all-wheel drive of the Golf R32 while power is distributed via a DSG dual clutch transmission. VW supports that it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.8 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to at 250 km/h (155 mph). Despite its impressive specs, average fuel consumption of the Golf Variant RaVe 270 is 9.1 lt/100 km or 25.8 mpg.

The standard Golf Variant’s body parts -bumpers, radiator grille, side skirts, taillights, headlamps, and even the mirrors – were all modified. For example, the new bumper features three large air inlets while the xenon headlamps got a new look by extending the engine hood and fenders and adding new special caps. At the rear end, there are two twin-fluted tailpipes on the left and right. Between them is a diffuser that provides for additional traction. The RaVe 270 sits on 19 inch "Zaragoza" alloy wheels while the sport chassis was lowered by 20 millimeters.

Inside, the most important add on is the new 1,400 Watt high-end sound system. The basis for this system is the new RNS 510 radio-navigation system. A total of 13 loudspeakers are supplied via three powerful output amplifiers. A strong 880 Watt subwoofer and two other 250 Watt subwoofers in chrome promise to make quite a bang.

The 880 Watt subwoofer – just like the output amplifiers – is located so that it is visible on the cargo floor. Also integrated in the rear were two 12-inch monitors. Among other features, the interior is characterized by leather sport bucket seats with R-Logo and painted door handle recesses.

BRABUS Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster Debuts In Essen

Making its world premiere at the Essen Motor Show today (Nov. 30, 2007), the Brabus prepped Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster is one of the few tuned supercars that we wouldn’t mind seeing in our garage. Maybe that's because the German's restrained themselves to a carbon fiber front spoiler that minimizes lift on the front axle, a corresponding rear diffuser also made from exposed carbon fiber and a set of sexy BRABUS Monoblock VI 20-inch alloy wheels mounted on high-performance Pirelli or Yokohama tires in sizes 255/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 20. -Continued after the jump

In terms of mechanical changes, the power tuning for the supercharged 5.5-liter (335.5 cu. in.) engine consists of special camshafts, a fuel cooling system and a high-performance exhaust that increase the power output of the V8 compressor engine by 24 hp to 650 hp at 6,500 rpm.

BRABUS also offers a special clutch-type limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent. It further optimizes traction and improves acceleration performance of the SLR Roadster. The tuned roadster sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 sec and reaches a top speed of 337 km/h (209 mph).

Moving ahead to the interior, it all depends on the depth of your wallet. The company-own upholstery shop specializes in fulfilling just about any requests including a multitude of leather types and colors as well as custom upholstery designs. There’s also a sport steering wheel with integrated buttons for manual shifting of the SLR’s automatic transmission, carbon-fiber applications for dashboard, center console and door trim. The exposed carbon-fiber trim can be color-coordinated with the leather color of the interior.

An unusual BRABUS specialty is the waffle-patterned leather carpeting in the SLR’s footwells, as it contains some 7,800 meters (25,600 feet) of thread.

ABT AS4: Tuning The 2008 Audi A4

That’s AS4 and S4 – just to avoid any misunderstandings… The AS4 is ABT’s tuning proposition for the all-new A4 that will go on sale in the States in early 2008. Our first reaction upon seeing the ABT prepped A4 was quite positive if you take out the fender gills that look totally out of place. The bodykit consists of front, side and rear skirts, a rear spoiler and a 4-pipe rear muffler while the AS4 also sits lower thanks to ABT’s sport suspension. Buyers can choose from two different types of alloy wheel styles (AR or BR) which are available in 18, 19 or 20-inch. -Continued after the jump

Altogether, four engines are available for the Abt AS4, starting with the base1.8 TSI upgraded from 160 HP to 200 HP. The 143HP 2.0 TDi (turbodiesel) engine is offered in two guises, with 170 and 200 HP while the 190 HP 2.7 TDi is tuned to deliver 230 HP. The 240 HP 3.0 TDI is also available with two power upgrades, with 270 HP (550 Nm torque) and 300 HP (600 Nm of torque).

For better braking power, the German tuner can also equip the AS4 with the Abt brake system (345 millimeter disc diameter) or the Abt sports brake system (diameter 380 millimeter).

ABT Audi R8 Sport Package

There’s no doubt that the Audi R8 is one hell of a looking car, which makes you wonder why someone would mess around with its appearance trying to mod it as if it were a Civic. Personally, I’d might think of changing the alloy wheels, but nothing more. Anyway, ABT believes that there are many current and potential R8 buyers out there who’d disagree with us as the German tuner presented a new range of accessories for Audi’s supercar. You can check out all the details after the jump. -Continued

Press Release

The R8 from Abt - a car which is setting standards

Design milestones of sports car construction do not only come from Sant' Agata Bolognese or Maranello but also from Kempten. Because there, in the picturesque Allgäu region, Abt Sportsline, the greatest tuner for vehicles from the Volkswagen group, is based. With the new Abt R8, the term "improvement" is set one level higher as this car combines technical competence and brilliant design from Abt and results in an automobile masterwork. Not more and not less. The Abt R8 is a fantastic super sports car, playing in the same league as Lamborghini Gallardo or Ferrari F430.

No doubt, even the basis model of the R8 is something special - and therefore a real challenge, emphasizes Hans-Jürgen Abt. "The fluently dynamic form of the car is unique, it looks like having a lot of power, even when standing still," admits the managing director and therewith he raises the bar for his engineers and designers.

As it is usual for Abt, the result is quite respectable and can be driven with fascination. The light and sporty high-tech material Carbon well visibly shapes the rear skirt, the side blades and the side skirts. The exciting body kit of the two-seater was developed by the motor sports professionals from Kempten who also optimized the car in reducing weight and in distributing mass evenly.

That optical features do not obviate technical sophistications but, on the contrary, lead to perfection clearly show the contours of the Abt R8. Front skirt, side skirts, and rear skirt form a unit in which the rear wing, the side blades and also the exhaust system are harmonically integrated. A special highlight is the front skirt partially made of sight carbon. It is a component of the equipment version "Extravagant".

The customer is able to provide his Abt R8 with attachment parts, at his own option with elements of sight carbon. A two tone structure is also possible by request. Another alternative ist the equipment version “Exclusive”, which offers the customer the possibility to beautify his R8 with an Abt body kit made of high-quality GRP (glass fibre reinforced plastic). Also the new BR wheel from Abt with its bi-colour paint perfectly fits the car. The front axis presents it in the size 9x20 inch, the rear axis in 11x20 inch.

Thus the R8 appears much more dynamical. With Abt suspension springs and car lowering the team from Kempten improves the road holding even more as Christian Abt and his specialists exactly adjusted the suspension. With the Abt sports brake system (380 millimeters diameter), the fast super sports car from the Allgäu sets standards also in matters of delay.

The new Abt R8 is a car which makes hearts beat faster. It perfectly brings the magic of speed onto the road even when standing still.

We begin our Essen Motor Show report today with the AC Schnitzer prepped BMW 135i Coupe. Naturally, AC Schnitzer offers a full bodykit for the 135i Coupe, but to be honest, we don't care much about it and if anything else, we could have done without the 'Turbo' logo at the rear-end of the vehicle which looks like it was stolen from a pimped Zastava Yugo.

Opel GT by Steinmetz To Debut In Essen

Just a couple of days before the ESSEN Motor Show in Germany opens its doors to the media (Friday, Nov. 30), Opel specialist, Steinmetz announced that it will reveal a new sports pack for the European version of the Saturn Sky, the GT. Steinmetz’s subtle bodykit consists of a new honeycomb style grille and a two-piece front spoiler with outlined air intakes next to the foglamps. -Continued

In the rear, the only change is the new quad exhaust pipes with the round outlets. The revised GT sits on new 20’’ alloy wheels finished in matte anthracite but buyers can also opt for 18 or 19-inch rims. Finally, the German tuner also offers a lowering kit which brings the GT 20 mm closer to the ground.
