We wanted this as a check point to see how far we have come against the best,” says Derek Crabb, Motorsport Director at Volvo Cars. “We are climbing up the development curve of this car and we strongly believe the Volvo C30 may become a very competitive car in any FIA Super 2000 championship. Volvo C30 Rear-Wheel-Drive Project!

Even though our friend Marcus was kind enough to add a link to the Swedish company “Skruffse” that created this rear-wheel-drive Volvo C30, unfortunately we weren’t able to make a worthwhile translation of the car’s specs. In any case we really dig this conversion, and if any of you happen to have any additional information on the car, don’t hesitate to share it with us. –Click through for more pics

Volvo Launches New Personalized Sticker Program for C30 – No joke!

Feeling in love? Then how about dressing your C30 in pink hearts! Not that kind of person? Well then, how about giving your C30 a retro look by turning it into a post-modern Swedish woodie? We know that many of you will probably think that we’ve been caught off-guard by posting an April Fools’ Day hoax, but Volvo actually announced this new personalised appereance program for the C30 on its official Swedish site today. So unless the Swedes celebrate April Fools’ Day on the 4th of April, it’s as real as it gets.

According to Volvo, starting from April 7, 2008, C30 buyers in Sweden will be able to choose among 20 different designs for their car. The removable film has a guaranteed durability for around two years, after which it’s either replaced with a new variant, or alternatively, taken away for good. Volvo promises that the film will not cause any harm to the car’s color but on the contrary, it will protect it. The cost of the film –including labor, has been set in Sweden at 18,750 SEC, which is about $3,130 USD or €2,000. More images after the jump
