2006 SEMA Show Pontiac Solstice for Sale

We seriously doubt that anyone will recognize this moderately tricked out 2006 Pontiac Solstice as one of the gazillion project cars that participated at the 2006 SEMA show. However, if you’re the kind of person that likes tale-telling, then this Solstice might temporarily score you a few points with your friends. According to the seller, the Soltice features a custom made one-off body kit, 20-inch TSW alloy wheels wrapped in 235/30/20 Pirelli tires, a custom yellow paint job, an AEM cold air intake, a Magnaflow performance exhaust and KW sport springs. -Continued

Video: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe – 50 Cent Presentation Plus Driving Footage

Not that any of you car aficionados care or anything, but GM called in 50 Cent to present its new products at the New York Auto Show. The successful rapper seemed particularly interested in the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Targa Coupe that will be available in the States in early 2009 (see pics and details here). Along with the NY Show presentation, we also included driving and static footage of Pontiac’s sexy looking Coupe. –Video after the jump

NY Show: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe with Targa-Top

Pontiac is broadening the Solstice’s line-up with the introduction of a coupe version that’s inspired that’s by the homonymous 2002 Detroit Show concept. The coupe features a removable hard top panel in case you lust to see the sun, but unfortunately, there’s no space in the rear to store it. Instead, Pontiac offers an optional soft roof cover that can be stored in the cargo area when not in use.

There are no mechanical changes since the change to a coupe body style resulted in only a slight increase in curb weight. Pontiac notes that initial tests have shown that the Solstice coupe will deliver ride and handling, acceleration, braking and fuel economy comparable to the convertible model.

As with the roadster, the coupe is powered by a standard 173 Hp 2.4L four-cylinder engine, while the GXP version is equipped with a 260 Hp 2.0L turbocharged engine. The Solstice coupe is expected to arrive in Pontiac dealerships in early 2009. (Pics edited by Carscoop) – Details and pics after the jump

Ferrari Solstice: For Better Or For Worse?

It's a story you've heard many times; someone buys a car, he likes it general but there’s something about its appearance that doesn’t click. Mr “Mad Mod” in particular didn’t like his Pontiac’s front end so he decided to give it a nose-job by adding a Ferrari F430 inspired bumper.

Apparently the guy didn’t have any intentions of building a full F430 replica, which is a plus in our books. Of course, he kinda went overboard with the rims, the Lambo style doors and the Porsche Cayman inspired side air-vents, but no one is perfect. The specific Solstice has also been mechanically upgraded featuring among other things an aftermarket turbo that raises output to about 307 HP. -More pics after the jump

Who let the dogs out? Mallet presents "Pitbull" Body Kit for the Pontiac Solstice

In love with Mallet’s 400Hp+ V8 powered Solstice but chopfallen with its humble looks? No problemo; Mallet just turned Pontiac’s “puppy” roadster into a head-turning beast that’ll definitely give you serious street-cred –if that’s your fix. Mallet’s 6-pieces bodykit widens the Solstice a full 4 inches in the front and 5 inches in the rear allowing the use of ultra-wide wheels. Better hold your… dogs though cause the Pitbull Edition Solstices will be built in a limited number of units with the fiberglass upgrade costing around $16,000-18,000 (11.700 – 13.200 EUR). Optionally, you can also special order a carbon fibre upgrade. The “Pitbull” Solstice will make its official debut at the 2007 SEMA Show on October 30. -More images after the jump
